Research Interests
Eva Vasiljevic's focus, under the direction of Dr. Nansi Colley, is to study the genetic roots of visual diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa and age-related macular degeneration using the model organism D. melanogaster, the fruit fly. In particular, she is interested in understanding retinal degeneration by studying proteins in the phototransduction cascade and others that function in rhodopsin synthesis and trafficking.
