Research

Kevin Ponto's research is in the field of virtual reality, which enables the controlled study of environmental features. One of his research endeavors is to understand how to perceptually calibrate a virtual environment to a given user. Conceptually, he hypothesizes that (much like clothing and glasses), virtual environments also need to be tailored to an individual. These results have been shown in a CAVE environment, but Dr. Ponto's group is looking to expand this work to other types of virtual reality systems.
