Research Interests
Ms. Spencer is currently Program Manager, Clinical Practice Guidelines at the UW Health Center for Clinical Knowledge Management (CCKM).

Previously, she worked for Wicab, Inc. to develop an assistive device called the BrainPort V100. The BrainPort V100 is an investigational electrotactile device which provides users who are completely blind with visual information such as size, shape, and location of objects within their environment via the tongue. As a rehabilitation counselor, Ms. Spencer’s clinical experience helping individuals adjust to their new or ongoing disability has allowed her to provide a unique perspective and impact on the device development. She continues to investigate ways to improve the efficacy and usability of the device, including BrainPort V100 application in the everyday lives of its users.
