Education:
DVM 1997, Veterinary Medical Science, University of Tokyo
Postdoctoral Studies 1997-2003, Genetics, Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor, ME
Research Interests:
Dr. Ikeda's research interests are related to understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate coordinated proliferation, differentiation and movement of corneal epithelial cells. Her current research focuses on elucidating the molecular pathways through which defects in cytoskeletal organization lead to abnormal proliferation and differentiation of corneal epithelial cells and corneal neovascularization using mouse models. She also works with mouse models elucidating the genetics of retinal disease.
