Rebecca received her Masters Degree in Industrial Systems and Engineering-Human Factors in Spring 2014 with a focus on universal design. Universal design, also referred to as “Design for All,” is a set of design practices and principles whose goal is to make products and technology accessible and usable for as many people as possible. While at UW, her work was through the UW-Madison Trace Research and Development Center, where she helped to develop a set of tools to be used with commercial telecollaboration packages to make them more accessible for individuals with vision, hearing and motor disabilities. Rebecca also holds a BA in Liberal Arts, and both a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering. She is currently home full-time with her young child, and is enjoying all the exciting human factors learning opportunities this experience provides.
