Shaoqin "Sarah" Gong's research group focuses on the design, synthesis/fabrication, and characterization of novel materials and devices. Engineering innovative bionanomaterials is a major focus of Dr. Gong's research group. In particular, her group has developed various types of multifunctional drug/agent nanocarriers for targeted cancer therapies and diagnoses including unimolecular micelles, multimolecular polymer micelles, polymer vesicles, and various polymer-functionalized inorganic nanoparticles. Currently, Dr. Gong serves as the Associate Editor for Biomaterials. She is a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER award and also a recipient of the NIH Mentored Quantitative Research Career Development Award.
