Vision Statement (PDF)
Our highest priority is to foster interactive, interdisciplinary and translational studies of how the visual system functions in health and disease. We will:
- Support excellent research programs by providing financial and physical resources to vision scientists;
- Foster training opportunities in the vision sciences for undergraduate, graduate, medical, and post-doctoral trainees;
- Develop a state-of-the-art, fiscally sound facility for conducting research in selected areas of the vision sciences; and
- Integrate the activities of the Eye Research Institute with those of other scholarly groups, enhancing the interplay between vision and other disciplines to broaden the base of scientific knowledge.
