Research Interests
I have a long-term goal of pursuing a residency program in veterinary ophthalmology and would consider potentially contributing to a veterinary training program in the future. I have had a mixture of research and clinical experience in ophthalmology, with the research experiences mostly focused on canine inherited retinal diseases. Some of my past work had some cross over into human medicine as my research was centered on developing gene therapies or stem cell therapies in dog models of human IRDs. My current position is slightly different as it investigates age-related macular degeneration with work using mouse models.
