Application deadline: No deadline – Applicants may apply at anytime
Winners announced within one month of application submission
Overview:
Special Interest Group (SIG) lunches are informal, face-to-face events intended to promote focused discussion and bring together researchers across campus. More specifically, the purpose of these SIG lunches is to give the lunch host (through their interaction with invitees) an opportunity to spur collaboration, gain feedback on a grant proposal or experiment, advance their expertise in one or more areas, or gain insight into methodologies and tools that will benefit their own research projects.
McPherson ERI will cover the cost of the lunch, but the lunch host will specify the attendees, the location of the meeting on campus, and what food will be ordered.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible to receive MERI sponsorship to receive funding for you SIG lunch, you must…
• …be a McPherson ERI member or trainee member (if you are not already a member or trainee member, please submit a membership or trainee application and wait for membership approval before you submit a SIG lunch application).
• …not invite more than 10 attendees.
• …conform to UW-Madison’s business meal limits (see here for allowable maxima).
• …provide a brief justification for why you want to have the lunch, why you chose the invitees you chose, and what you hope to get out of having the lunch (see online form).
