UW-Madison Ophthalmology Clinical Trials Unit (CTU)

UW-Madison Ophthalmology Clinical Eye Research Unit (CERU) at the UW-Madison has been conducting research with human subjects for over 20 years. Its mission is to administer research trials related to age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic macular edema, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, ocular melanoma, glaucoma, and pediatric ophthalmic diseases. These trials are designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of new laser treatments, oral medications, IV medications, intravitreal injections, surgeries, vitamins, minerals, and devices in the treatment of ophthalmic diseases.

UW-Madison Vision Core

UW-Madison Vision Core is funded by the National Eye Institute (NEI), the Vision Research Core provides vision researchers services in three distinct areas: gene delivery and quantitative molecular biology, pathology imaging, and animal models, and eye organ culture. Core staff provide the expertise and laboratory space to provide these vision research services, enabling us to improve the efficiency and productivity in vision research and ultimately speeding the pace of progress in vision research.
