Dr. Bikash Pattnaik, PhD, McPherson ERI member and past holder of the RRF Rebecca Meyer Brown Professorship, has received a $1 million-plus gift for the study of novel therapy approaches for Leber Congenital Amaurosis (LCA). In collaboration with Co-Investigators David Gamm, MD, PhD, and William Hauswirth, PhD (University of Florida), Dr. Pattnaik’s three-year study aims, among other things, to overcome defects in potassium channel functioning in genes with the LCA16 mutation.
