Research Interests
Aimee Arnoldussen, PhD, combines expertise in vision and cognitive neuroscience with a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship. Her research focuses on neuroplasticity and sensory substitution and includes contributions to the development of the BrainPort® vision device, a non-surgical assistive visual prosthetic for individuals who are blind. This work helped advance a research program supported by more than $6 million in funding from the NIH, Department of Defense, and Google, leading to commercialization milestones including FDA clearance in 2015. Today, she helps translate emerging health and technology innovations into real-world impact, supporting startups and research teams in strategy development, commercialization, funding, and partnerships. Having contributed to ventures that have collectively raised more than $35 million, Aimee is committed to advancing innovations that improve health and human potential.
