Credentials: Research Specialist, Department of Neuroscience
Email: agbutala@wisc.edu
Address:
Wisconsin Institutes of Medical Research (WIMR)
1111 Highland Ave
Madison, WI 53705

Education:
BS 2018, Biology, Fort Lewis College, Durango, CO
Research Interests:
In the Sinha lab, Butala is focused on researching the differences in the cone phototransduction cascade between foveal and peripheral primate retina. He has developed a broad interest in retinal morphology, circuitry and pathology. His specific interest is in understanding how the phototransduction cascade is modulated by amacrine cells, a unique and diverse population of neurons in the retina. In researching the function of amacrine cells, he aims to uncover novel pathways related to retinal development and disease.
