Research
My research focuses on the role of Activity in Synapse Maturation. I am looking at how Cav1.4 Calcium Channel functions in Photoreceptor Synapse Maturation over development in Primate retina. I am also looking at the role of early post-natal cholinergic waves for Inner Retinal Synapse formation in mouse models. Techniques include high-resolution imaging, electrophysiology in retinal tissue and hPSC-derived retinal organoids, transcriptomics, and electron microscopic reconstruction.
