Research Interests
My research centers on how activity regulates retinal ganglion cell (RGC) function and morphology. I investigate a subset of RGCs (αRGCs) using single-cell patch-clamp electrophysiology, dendritic morphology analysis, and computational methods to interpret the structure and function of these cells in a healthy retina and in retinas either deprived of sensory experience or disrupted excitation and inhibition balance. These comparisons allow me to examine how variations in activity shape the input and output properties of RGC types and tune retinal function.
