Research Interests
Dr. Nalbandyan works in the Nutrition and Eye Health Research Team led by Dr. Julie Mares, MSPH, PhD. She is interested in the epidemiology of eye diseases in different age groups. Her previous research experiences include investigation of non-genetic risk factors for infantile cataracts and examining the outcomes of surgeries on age-related cataracts. Currently, she is examining the role of dietary and nutritional factors on the development of age-related eye diseases, including macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataracts.
