RESEARCH
Dr. Kats has broad interests in optics and photonics, including in the visible spectral range. In the past, he has studied structural color, and discovered a new special case of thin-film interference using ultra-thin lossy films. Recently, he has become interested in engineering human color vision using nanophotonics technologies.
