Research
During Eric Nguyen’s PhD research, he contributed to the development of in-vitro screening system to detect the activity of putative vascular inhibitory compounds on model microvasculature. As a postdoctoral research associate in Nader Sheibani’s laboratory, Nguyen’s aimed to utilize cell types derived from induced pluripotent stem cells to construct neurovascular toxicity screening models relating to the retinal vasculature and the developing central nervous system. Data gathered by these model neurovascular systems will contribute to toxicity models being developed by the Environmental Protection Agency to determine immediate and far-reaching effects of chemical exposure on human tissue function.
