Research

My research focuses on retinal tissue engineering, activity-mediated neuroplasticity, and regenerative strategies for restoring vision. I develop approaches to transplant stem cell-derived retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) to rebuild visual circuits damaged by glaucoma and optic neuropathies. I also engineer organ-on-chip and microphysiological systems to model the retina and its brain connections in vitro, enabling studies of donor-host integration and neural circuit plasticity.
