Research
Mr. Martell has an interest in the genetic and cellular underpinnings of neurodegenerative diseases, including degeneration in the eye. He studies the effects of age, environment, and genetics on macular degeneration in a mouse model. He is broadly interested in learning about current research that address the relationship between cellular biology and visual functioning, particularly in the context of clinically relevant human conditions.
